Membership Requirements

To qualify for membership, applicants must have completed an accredited massage therapy program. Accredited means that the massage school must be officially recognized or authorized to teach massage therapy.

The following programs, certifications or degrees do not certify you as a massage therapist:

  • Beauty therapy
  • Sports therapy
  • Exercise science/Sports science
  • Kinesiology
  • Naturopathy
  • Physical therapy
  • Osteopathy

Experience alone is also not a substitute for proper certification.  Massage workshops added together to complete hours also does not qualify.

Accredited programs are in the USA and Canada.

LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: (Please send via email with your application fee paid online receipt) 

  1. Completed application form.
  2. Graduation from an accredited Massage Therapy Program: 750 clock hours – with the following breakdown:
    Applicants must provide transcript and diploma.
  • at least 125 clock hours of body systems (anatomy, physiology and kinesiology);
  • at least 200 clock hours of massage and bodywork assessment, theory and application, in-class and supervised;
  • at least 40 clock hours of pathology;
  • at least 10 clock hours of business and ethics including a minimum of 6 hours of Ethics;
  • and the remainder hours in related education.  

3. Current First Aid and CPR.

4. Current SCARS training.

5. Signed Code of Ethics, Conduct and Practice.

6. $50 Non – Refundable application fee.

7. $50 Initial Membership Dues

Membership Renewal Requirements:

  1. Annual dues $100 (Initial dues are $50)
  2. Current First Aid and CPR training – submit certificates if updated (Bi-Annual).
  3. Current SCARS training – submit certificates if updated (every 3 years
  4. 24 CEU every 2 years – 12 CEU must be hands on training.
  5. Signed Code of Ethics, Conduct and Practice.
